自 1981 年首次舉辦以來，CFDA 時尚大獎一直在表揚美國時尚界的設計代表，而今年 CFDA Awards 2022 慶祝其成立 60 週年，除了獲一眾時尚界名人及設計師出席，同時宣布了本屆 CFDA 時尚大獎獲獎者：Khaite 的設計師 Catherine Holstein 獲得了美國年度女裝設計師獎；而美國年度男裝設計師獎則由BODE的Emily Adams Bode Aujla 捧走；而 LUAR創始人 Raul Lopez 榮登今屆美國年度配飾設計師，而美國年度新銳設計師則是由設計新秀 Elena Velez 勝出。

除了一眾設計師，在時尚界留下各種創意印記的造型師 Patti Wilson，亦獲頒今屆紀念Eugenia Sheppard的媒體獎；Lenny Kravitz獲頒今屆 CFDA 2022時尚典範獎；而 Chrome Hearts 的創辦人 Richard Stark 和 Laurie Lynn Stark 獲得本屆 Geoffrey Beene 終身成就獎；至於已故Louis Vuitton男裝創意總監Virgil Abloh 被追授董事會獎，表彰這位已故設計師對全球時尚的貢獻。
為了標誌邁向 60 周年的里程碑，CFDA今年特別推出了一項全新造型師獎，由 與 Zendaya 長期合作的著名造型師 Law Roach 獲得此項殊榮；本屆又增加一項一次性特別週年紀念獎，授予CFDA的長期成員Jeffrey Banks。
