Inventing Anna
Inventing Anna tells a true story — of a woman who lived a lie. Helmed by Bridgerton and Grey’s Anatomy’s Shonda Rhimes, the limited series is based on the New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” written by Jessica Pressler in 2018, which traces the rise and fall of Anna Sorokin, a Russian born-German who defrauded New York’s one per cent by pretending to be a German heiress named Anna Delvy. Starring Julia Garner as Anna, the Netflix original follows a journalist (Anna Chlumsky) as she tracks down the Soho scammer in jail to tell her story.
