The space tells a story of anticipation and reunion, where quiet luxury meets family traditions. Haven Design founder Mary Wong shares, “I want them to feel an immediate sense of relaxation when they step into the space—a feeling of peace and happiness as they let go of life’s worries.”

At the heart of the home is a striking marble fireplace. “Historically, the fireplace has always been the heart of the home. In this project, it serves as the connecting point between the entrance, dining, and living areas,” Wong explains. “We chose a beautiful marble with strong veining to create a visual focal point that contrasts with the muted tones throughout the rest of the space.” Surrounding the fireplace is ample space for a large Christmas tree and festive decorations. “Above the fireplace, a pair of alabaster wall lamps cast soft glows in the evening. Together with the custom walnut vintage glass mirror, the entire area emanates a gentle yet highly curated atmosphere.”

The design seamlessly blends spatial elements to create visual flow. Translucent glass walls enclose the piano room, allowing natural light into the dining area. Curved ceilings add fluidity, while continuous panel walls extend from the living room through the piano room to the corridor, creating cohesion.

The homeowners’ style has evolved from their previous home’s mix of Chinese and European vintage furniture with bold brass accents, to a lighter, airier design. She shares, “Some Italian furniture came from the owner’s previous home. For the living and dining areas, we worked with various Italian furniture brands to create a cohesive look,” including Minotti and Poltrona Frau. “For the bedroom, we partnered with local artisans to design pieces perfectly suited to the space,” with Hardwood HK crafting bespoke pieces.
