Omotenashi is a Japanese spirit of warm, selfless hospitality, and at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, this sincerity underscores every decision. Their biggest transformation began last summer, as a comprehensive change unfurled on the hotel’s accommodation floors. Now, ten months later, the acclaimed hotel reopens its refurbished doors, welcoming guests with a renewed vision of luxury.
Enlisting esteemed interior studio André Fu Studio, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi was given a highly personalised makeover that enhances its charming idiosyncrasies. “Our goal was to create a space that feels both distinctly Japanese and unmistakably cosmopolitan — a sanctuary where guests can connect with Tokyo in a deeply personal way,” says Fu.
The vision of a “contemporary manor” is at the heart of the renovation, bridging Japanese aesthetics with the warmth of home and the sophistication of the cosmopolitan. The arrival lobby is transformed into a modern Japanese tea lounge framed by washi panelling, muted furnishings, and unrestricted views of a meditative Japanese garden, setting the tone for a calm and alluring retreat.
This sense of peace carries to the floors upstairs, where its redesigned accommodations gently rise above Tokyo’s buzzing energy. With only 57 rooms and suites, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi has long been renowned for its intimate and residential-style luxury, distinguishing itself from the sleek and busy Marunouchi business district. Now, the Hotel’s relaxed luxury is deepened through warm woods and mid-century silhouettes in the guest rooms and suites—a serene sanctuary of comfort and elegant beauty just moments from Tokyo station. Design details in these rooms also reveal the Hotel’s commitment to fine craftsmanship, especially the cast bronze lighting and sakura floral marquetry adorning the space.
A thoughtful transformation guided by a distinctive vision of relaxed luxury, the Hotel is now taking reservations for stays starting April 29, 2026.
