Soho House Hong Kong marked its 6th anniversary with a weekend that perfectly captured its spirit of creativity, connection, and community. From September 19 to 21, the House came alive with a curated celebration of food, music, and culture, offering members and guests an unforgettable experience that highlighted the vibrant energy of Hong Kong’s creative scene.
The festivities kicked off on Friday with a large member mixer in collaboration with A80 Paris, offering complimentary blow dry to all members, followed by an intimate culinary experience in the Pool Room: One Night Only: MMKitchen x Flakes & Layers by Amanda S. The event brought together the talents of private chef Marissa Lau and model-turned-chef Amanda Strang. Guests were treated to a five-course dinner that featured Lau’s signature dishes paired with Strang’s exquisite desserts, all thoughtfully accompanied by a selection of wines.
Later that night, the energy shifted as the Yellow & Blue Room was transformed into a dancefloor for the House Party with Rocky Lee. Featuring eclectic music selections, an intimate setting, and a club-ready sound system, the night set the perfect tone for the weekend of celebrations ahead.
Saturday brought an entirely different rhythm, with the launch of Soho Connects Asia, a series of thought-provoking talks exclusively for Soho House members. The day began with a breakfast panel led by Simon Yu of Zaha Hadid Architects, who captivated attendees with insights into how sustainability and cutting-edge technology are reshaping urban design in Asia. From there, the conversations expanded to explore the art world, the evolution of queer cinema, and the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence. Highlights included a panel featuring representatives from Art Basel, Frieze, and David Zwirner, who explored the regional art ecosystem, as well as a hands-on session on creative AI that offered practical demonstrations and insights into navigating this transformative technology. As the day unfolded, the dialogue continued to explore how design, heritage, and storytelling intersect to shape cultural and civic identities across Asia.
As the evening approached, the focus shifted to food and music, beginning with Dim Sum Drink Sum’s one-night collaboration with House of Orient in the Harbour Room. Guests were treated to a menu crafted by a master dim sum chef with over 40 years of experience, paired with cocktails curated by Tommy Wong. The flavours, techniques, and pairings captured the essence of tradition while embracing modernity, creating a dining experience to remember. The night continued at House Studio with a live performance by Paris-based producer Onra, whose East Asian-inspired beats and signature sound captivated the audience. The energy only grew as Yeti Out’s genre-blurring dance party carried the celebration well into the early hours.
Sunday brought the weekend to a perfect close, beginning with the Flagrant Hot Sauce Seafood Palace, a poolside brunch that felt equal parts indulgent and laid-back. Michelin-starred Chef Matt Abergel of Yardbird and Always Joy collaborated with Soho House Executive Chef Krzysztof Czerwinski to create a seafood-focused menu bursting with bold flavours and coastal influences. With DJs bb lamb and Dan Da Da providing the soundtrack, the Pool Room buzzed with the kind of relaxed energy that defines a perfect Sunday afternoon.
The final act of the weekend was a celebration of emerging talent with the Soho House Mentorship Finale, held in collaboration with OWN Academy. Fourteen young creatives took centre stage to present their capstone projects, which ranged from short films to interactive installations and cookbooks. The showcase was a tangible representation of Soho House’s commitment to fostering the next generation of innovators and creators, leaving the audience inspired.
As the sun set on the weekend, it was clear that this celebration was more than just a weekend-long party. It was a reflection of what Soho House has come to mean to Hong Kong’s creative community over the past six years—a space where ideas are exchanged, collaborations are born, and culture is celebrated.
