Best Bites
The Surf Club restaurant is my preference for a nice dinner and Mandolin for a more casual occasion. Uchi, Osaka and Portosole are also among my favourites.
Miami Beach, Florida, South Beach Art Deco District
Best Music
ZeyZey is my son Mauricio’s favourite place; he has been a DJ for 15 years, so this comes from a true insider.
Best Art
The PAMM, ICA and Rubell Museum have phenomenal permanent collections. As for local independent galleries, Fredric Snitzer is the most prestigious and Art Basel Miami is always remarkable.
Best Vibes
Coconut Grove which is also where I live. For nearly a century, the neighbourhood has been a magnet for creatives, and I love the lush landscape and its proximity to the ocean.
Miami Beach, Aerial of Art Deco District, Lummus Park
Best Fashion
Bal Harbour Shops, where we have one of our boutiques, is a Miami landmark known worldwide for its remarkable luxury portfolio.
Best Photo Spots
The Art Deco District in South Beach is an architectural treasure. Unfortunately, recent state regulations pose a threat to the preservation of many of its historic buildings.
Secret Spots
Casa Tua Miami Beach–which is not exactly a secret. The best place to have a candlelit dinner under the stars.
Inspirations
The city has evolved from a nightlife hotspot into an increasingly important hub for culture and technology, yet I’ve always drawn inspiration from its natural beauty and architecture. Some of my most memorable collections have been influenced by the unique elements here.
Summer Essentials
My sunglasses, sunscreen, one of our silk caftans and our Sofia bag.
Best Moments
A long, leisurely lunch at the Mr. C rooftop, dressed in flat camel leather sandals, silk trousers, a crisp white shirt, and a classic Borsalino hat.
