It’s not news that the Hallyu wave has swept the globe. While charts and records are being topped left and right by K-pop artists in music, the fashion world is also witnessing a surge of fresh Asian faces gracing the biggest events on the sartorial calendar. Notably, NCT’s Johnny Suh made his Met Gala debut this May in a sweeping black satin tailcoat and matching suit by Peter Do and, according to marketing research firm Netbase Quid, became the most talked-about person at the 2022 Met Gala. Elsewhere in Paris, the joint appearance of BTS’ V, Blackpink’s Lisa, and actor Park Bo Gum at Celine’s SS23 Menswear show sent the internet into a frenzy.
