被告葉X宗於2014年開始經營一品牌珠寶店,被匿名報案指他涉嫌抄襲Chanel 商標。珠海法院在一審判決中認定葉X宗在未經過授權就使用「孖C」圖標,屬侵犯註冊商標的專用權,並判決賠償6萬元人民幣,但被告不服上訴,提出質疑「僅僅依靠產品的形狀就能判定侵權?」(請問不依靠產品的形狀依靠什麼呢?)。

然而,以往也曾發生過這樣的情況,原告的品牌最後被判敗訴。在近日二審判決,廣州知識財產權法院認為,Chanel未能提供充份證據表明葉X宗在銷售涉案商品時,該商品的形狀有被當成商標來使用。另外,也沒有任何證據可以表明葉X宗在銷售過程中,他的產品具有讓一般認知水平的普通消費者,誤會是Chanel產品。

Chanel一向極力保護品牌商標及其知識產權。2014年,Chanel就曾起訴華裔西班牙公民及其名下意大利珠寶公司註冊的「孖S」交叉標誌與其品牌孖C商標極為相似,涉嫌商標侵權。 2017年,Chanel在該案件中勝訴。此外又曾向美國二手交易平台The RealReal提出商標侵權和假冒訴訟,指該轉售網站雖然聲稱產品100%真貨,實則出售假冒的Chanel手袋。
