Amal and George Clooney giving, let’s face it, a scene from Oceans 14, zipping across the lagoon in a water taxi; Maggie Gyllenhaal ripping up the red carpet rulebook, arriving at the opening ceremony of the 83rd edition of the festival, wearing sleek Celine jazz shoes; the Gallagher brothers arriving for the premier of Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, in Madchester style signatures, and the potential sighting of Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz giving rarely seen couple’s style as they promote Florian Zeller’s Bunker.

But something that might just compete with George Clooney’s charisma or Noel and Liam’s jesting are the priceless jewels that twinkle on the red carpet. Right now, the most astonishing piece to have made an appearance are the whopping emerald earrings on Nicola Peltz Beckham, the stones of which which were previously owned by a Romanov Grand Duchess and Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton.
