The BTS Wind Jacket in “Swim” has been a need—not a want—ever since I attended their rainy Goyang concert. I was practically swimming in the downpour, and I deserve a keepsake. It’s the one that got away, but I’m still holding out for a restock because I need a daily reminder to “Keep Swimming” as I power through my office days. On the topic of daily pick-me-ups, I’ve also been drawn to vibrant pops of colour lately, specifically primary colours, which is why the Reqins Hemma Suede Loafers in Daring Red have been on my radar. Sure, wearing red in the Year of the Fire Horse might be risky, but sometimes, you just have to embrace the heat. 

After travelling to four countries in four weeks this spring, I realised I do not own a chic laptop bag. Enter the O.N.E x The Minimalist Duo bag, which ticks all the boxes: a detachable laptop sleeve, hidden luggage strap, and buttery black vegan leather to tie it all together. Speaking of bags, here’s what’s already in mine: ROMI Beauty’s Cream Liner in Anti Heroine, my first ever lip liner that is so smooth it’s completely changed my lip routine, as well as their Lip Treat Oil, which glides on like a dream (peep the applicator). Cue Malcolm Todd’s “Sweet Boy”! Summer is alive in Hong Kong, and it’s about to be a sun-soaked season of sweaty dancing, bright blushes, and being close to the water in any form possible. Picture the glory of sitting by the beach, cracking open a tin of sardines and dressing them over salt and vinegar chips. Picture also, at the same picnic mat or table, digging into buttery threadfin flakes enjoyed with a cool drink. Somehow, the unboxing that excites me most is the one in which fish are delivered by post. On that note, a grand PSA: Alyanna and I want to start fishing—any leads welcomed. 

Travelling is a fixture of the summertime, and a trip to New York in May led to the discovery of Ames Jewelry by Lizzie Ames. The Chase Ring has two faces, which can be flipped around, bringing to mind the tale of a continuous chase between a hound and a rabbit—super dreamy, take my money. For future travels, this Fanci Club corset would be perfect for dinners with (or for) the girls. Given that my favourite way to explore a city is always on foot, a comfortable pair of sneakers is a necessity. The Loewe Ballet Runner 2.0 is on the moodboard—despite its obvious branding, I’d like to think the elegant “L” lovingly complements the shoe’s silhouette… Last but not least, Chanel’s latest lip and cheek balm has me in a chokehold because of how effortless it is to swab it on for the illusion of a post-vacay glow when really I’m just a girl in the office dreaming of sunnier days. — Karrie Lam,  Culture and Lifestyle Writer

‘Tis the season to be outside! There’s torrential downpour and currently no sun in sight as I write this, but no matter; once I’ve entered a summer state of mind, there is no turning back. This June the city experienced its first taste of summer sunshine, and though that burst of vitamin D brought its promised dose of happiness, there is nothing worse than being constantly aware of fresh droplets of sweat trickling down your body. While I’m almost certain that I have hyperhidrosis and will sweat through anything, the skin always feels better clothed in breathable, natural fabrics.

Tell me these don’t nail the effortless feel of summer dressing we’re all after? For an al fresco dinner, picture the top worn with capris, a heeled sandal, and this 2006-2008 Chanel Ice Cube flap bag I spotted at HULA’s summer pop-up. Or imagine me lounging—one day, fishing—lakeside, wearing these shorts, a breezy tee and Havaianas split-toe flip flops (which, by the way, are only available in Europe so let’s fix that please). I can also see the full set serving me dutifully on a trail run, which I’m trying to hype myself up for by wishfully adding a pair of high-performance Ridar Sport Budd glasses to cart every now and then. Once I’m all done having my fun in the great outdoors, I’ll head back home, take a cold shower, and jump into bed where SUKU’s hand-painted 100% bamboo bedding awaits.
