Bright Vachirawit is one of the Asian influencers who inspired all his fans with his works and his style. From a man who ran around the town to do all the castings, today Bright is a successful actor, singer and businessman. Not only because of his talent, but because he put so much effort into everything he does to reach his goals at his best.

This year, we have seen you release more music which seems like you’re gearing up high in your career path. In your opinion, where do you think you are in your career and what is your next goal?

To me, I think I’m at the very beginning of my career. I even feel like a new artist. There are many things that I want to do. My dream would be to have a solo concert tour, such as a world tour, for my fans in many different countries. Singing is something which brings me a lot of joy. It’s different from acting, you know, because with acting you’re on set with a camera and have to wait for the audience’s feedback after the release but with singing on stage, I get to feel my fans’ energy and response right away as I’m performing. There’s nothing else like that and it’s become something I’m very fond of. Each time before I go on stage, I get an adrenaline rush and it makes me want to go out and meet everyone (smile). Singing is also something that helps me get to know myself better and better understand my identity. Before I sang a song that someone wrote for me but recently I’ve had the opportunity to work behind the scenes and help with constructing my own music.

If music inspired you to connect with yourself, what about acting?

Acting teaches me about people’s personalities, the way they feel, and the way they think. Meeting people and going to events makes me understand their characters more. From playing the role of a university student to playing a role as someone in their late 20s, each character has their own complexity and it forces me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things.

How dedicated are you to your work?

I’m very much a workaholic. I can’t stay still, there are many jobs for me to do including, acting, singing, being a presenter, and business and now decorating the house. It’s all happening at once, right now. I admit that it’s quite exhausting but the thing that makes me wake up and work every day is that I enjoy doing what I do.

You’ve talked about the early days of your career where you’d go to 30 castings and not land a role. What is something you’ve learnt from that stage of your career?

It sounds difficult but I didn’t feel that way because I know that nothing comes easily. There have been many times where 40-50 people would go to a casting and only one would be selected so it’s normal not to land a role. However, I realized I wasn’t good enough at that time after being rejected from so many castings but I never gave up because I’ve always wanted to learn more. I started without having any acting coach and the comments I received helped me understand the art of acting deeper. For example, when going to 5-8 castings and still not being selected, you still gain experience from the castings and it’s something that will help you move forward in your career. After many attempts, I finally learned and tried to improve myself. Eventually, I got my first job which led to others. I personally believe that every experience will help us grow. For example, becoming a Brand Ambassador of Burberry has expanded my world. Having to work abroad for this cutting-edge brand and be a representative of the brand has made me understand myself and the brand more so that we work together in harmony and communicate the same message to the customers. It’s proven that in the entertainment industry, we constantly face ever-changing obstacles so the question we need to answer is what do we want to communicate? It’s something you need to be able to answer as someone in the entertainment industry in order to successfully convey it to the audience.

Continuing our discussion about acting, how do you develop as an actor?

I observe myself every day, or at least try to define my emotions. For example, when I’m angry, as an actor, I would observe how my body responds to anger. For example, when I feel angry, my chest feels tight. When I’m sad or I feel numb, it’s like sinking down deeper and deeper. So, it’s about observing your emotional states in relation to your body. It’s like keeping a list of feelings. If you’re able to thoroughly separate one feeling from another it becomes easier to convey the emotion.

In the past, you’ve encountered both good and bad things that have affected your life. In good and bad times, you have fans that will support you always. How important are your fans to you?

For me… the love I have for my fans is pure. I said to them from the first day we met that I want them to be happy doing what they do and if at the moment they don’t feel that way, I would like them to take a break and do something else. But what I’ve always seen is despite if I’m happy or sad, my fans will always be there for me. It’s like always having the best companions. I never feel alone (smile). In the old days, if I was sad I would feel like I had no one to be there for me but now I know that there will always be a group of people who are willing to support me through good and bad times. It motivates me to be the best I can be because I’m not just doing this for myself but for my fans too. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough strength to keep working but when I think of my fans, it gives me the strength to push through because there are other people who will be happy seeing my works. You can’t do something only for yourself because that will make you lose your power to do things for someone else.

You used to say that by the age of 40, you wanted to have your own business and live quietly in your hometown, Nakhon Pathom, do you still want to do that?

I still want that but now I think maybe around the age of 35. I want to do it sooner (laughs). The life I live nowadays is very full of speed so I’m looking forward to slowing down. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to retire from the entertainment industry because this is a career that I love. I just want to have a quiet period for a while where I don’t have to worry about moving too fast.

Today, how would you describe “life” in your own words?

Hmm… (He pauses) Life is all about experiences. We were born with nothing but we can always add new things to create a meaningful life. Even though life has ups and downs, it’s all an experience. We don’t lose anything we just have to learn how to deal with different experiences. Also, you just need to look for happiness in every moment, of course, it’s difficult sometimes, but it’s all a part of the journey.
