After being crowned Celine’s first global ambassador in September 2020, Lalisa Manobal, known to many simply as ‘Lisa’, is continuing her love affair with the French house.

The Thai-born rapper, who became a household name after the astronomic success of the K-pop band of which she comprises a quarter, Blackpink (and who recently launched a solo career, with the release of her single, ‘Lalisa‘) stepped out on the runway for Celine’s summer 2022 collection. The brand has been presenting its collections away from the traditional Fashion Week cycle, and in the form of dreamy, aesthetically-inclined films since 2020: this latest collection was shown in a short film titled ““Baie des Anges”, shot in several locations around Nice, France.

To the tune of the 1972 hit “Vitamin C” by Can, Celine creative director Hedi Slimane sent a selection of haute-casual, streetwear-influenced looks down the runway, with logo-emblazoned hoodies, cargo pants, and even trucker caps. Lisa walked in a white crop, with a grey hoodie thrown over it and layered with a green varsity jacket, proclaiming the words “Celine Paris” on its back. Dark-wash denim jeans and white sneakers completed the look. She swung a neon yellow bag, with pastel-blue sunglasses covering much of her face. Her hair was styled in a bob, with her signature bangs. The film also included Slimane’s other muses, including model Kaia Gerber and actresses Suzanne Lindon and Diana Silvers.

It’s the latest move in Lisa’s long affair with Celine: just last week, she was announced as the global face of the Celine Haute Perfumerie collection, which sees the star draped across a very Parisian staircase, shot in black and white by Slimane himself. The line, which launched in 2019, includes 11 gender-neutral fragrances, drawing on the designer’s androgynous take on scent and style.
