Framework in the Desert Turns Five
Now five years in, Framework in the Desert has settled into its role as one of the weekend’s most in-demand after-hours destinations. Set inside an airport hangar in Thermal, the three-night series drew over 10,000 guests, with sets from Disclosure, Mochakk, and Boys Noize across a packed lineup. Closing it out, Armin van Buuren brought his signature scale to the more contained setting, a reminder of why he remains one of the genre’s defining figures. The Do LaB
If the main stages are about precision, the Do LaB operates on instinct. Often described as the pulse of Coachella, its loose, ever-shifting lineup once again delivered some of the weekend’s most unpredictable moments, from a surprise appearance by John Summit to a late-night back-to-back from Anyma and Marlon Hoffstadt that drew a dense crowd. There’s a certain rhythm to the space, less scheduled, more discovered, where word travels fast and the energy follows. It remains one of the few corners of Coachella that still feels slightly off-script.
BigBangchella
“BigBangchella” quickly became shorthand for one of the weekend’s most anticipated sets. BIGBANG—with G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung—drew one of the largest crowds of the weekend, with fans spilling far beyond the Outdoor Theatre. Opening with “Bang Bang Bang” and “Fantastic Baby,” the trio moved through a set packed with defining hits, folding in solo moments and a long-awaited return of “Bae Bae.” Midway through, they confirmed a 20th-anniversary world tour set to begin later this year, a milestone that landed with the same scale as the performance itself.
Karol G Makes History
Karol G took the main stage as the first Latina artist to headline Coachella, marking a milestone moment for the festival. Her set moved between reggaeton and pop, delivered with full command of the stage from start to finish. For Weekend 2, she returned with a slew of powerhouse guest stars including Becky G, Peso Pluma, and J Balvin among others, before announcing an upcoming tour from the stage.
