Ping Pong 129 Gintonería

Ping Pong 129 Gintoneria put Sai Ying Pun on the map with its industrial-chic interiors and goblet-sized gin cocktails. Located in a former ping pong hall on Second Street, behind an unmarked red door, this speakeasy takes its cues from Spain, serving up tapas — tortillas, croquettes and salted padron peppers — alongside an extensive selection of gins, tonics and garnishes. The mid-century modern furniture, brushed concrete floors and now-iconic neon sign add flair to an otherwise cavernous space, while stripped-back walls are adorned with art by local creatives.

The New Punjab Club’s Gin Trolley

Michelin-starred tandoor grill house The New Punjab Club is influenced by the liberated era of post-colonial Pakistan and India, but their old-school gin trolley harkens back to earlier times. Manned by a dedicated bartender, its selection of smart gins and garnishes that include dried orange and lavender, are served up in a space that’s all embossed walls, leather banquettes and modern South Asian art. As this is a restaurant, the gin cocktails are best enjoyed with a tasty and tender kebab from the grill.
