ong Kong-based architecture photographer Gary Ng has received critical acclaim for his breathtaking captures of landscapes and architecture, making 2025 one of the most successful years of his career. At the prestigious Architecture Photograph Awards, Ng secured first place in both the Urban Landscapes/Cityscapes and Light and Shadow categories. Adding to this success, he was named “Photographer of the Year” at the New York Photography Awards, becoming the first photographer from Hong Kong to achieve this honour. These accolades highlight his growing reputation and set the stage for an extraordinary career ahead.
Ng’s journey into architectural photography began with a visit to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain. This iconic structure served as the spark that ignited his passion for capturing architecture through a lens. Since then, he has drawn extensively from the rich surroundings of his hometown, Hong Kong, frequently photographing its diverse and vibrant architecture. His work is characterised by symmetry, minimalism, and a unique perspective, transforming familiar urban landscapes into striking visual narratives. Through his lens, Ng invites us to appreciate our home city in an entirely new light.
