2019年2月19日，時裝大帝Karl Lagerfeld與世長辭，四個月後生前有幸和他工作過的摯友及幾乎時裝界的所有人為他走到了一起。Karl For Ever 由老佛爺貢獻其一生創意的 Chanel、Fendi和自家同名品牌Karl Lagerfeld 聯合舉辦，在巴黎大皇宮舉行，由歌劇導演Robert Carsen策劃。在他生前最喜愛的時裝展場地，佈滿了各時期的經典肖像，座位黑白相間，是Karl最喜愛的顏色。他說到他希望呈現Karl Lagerfeld更輕鬆的一面「對於所有Karl的事一場喜悅的慶典」（“joyful celebration of all things Karl”）

這場「慶典」包括Pharrell Williams的表演；Tilda Swinton、Dame Helen Mirren和Cara Dalevingne朗讀出文學作品摘錄向他致敬。中國鋼琴家朗朗與小提琴家Charlie Siem演奏，還有Lagerfeld摯愛的探戈舞蹈，他曾形容過「Tango就是我的Rap」。從與Karl Lagerfeld深交的人的口中便不難發現，除了他對整個時尚產業的貢獻，最多人提到的是他無處不在的幽默和智慧。大會正中央設置的巨型屏幕持續播放了許多關於Karl Lagerfeld的影片，包括Anna Wintour、Suzy Menkes等述說著他們認識的Karl，加上Karl曾經的訪問和紀錄片片段，幫大家回顧了Karl Lagerfeld更為立體全面的形象：他不只是一名時裝設計師；他是攝影師、出版人、素描家、他擅長閱讀文學、詩歌、藝術、音樂；拍過電影、甚至是舞廳的舞者，還是個愛貓者，關於Choupette的故事我們又該從何說起？
因此，這絕不是一場只充滿哀思的追悼會，在場的人看完都會輕輕嘴角上揚。不知老佛爺看到今日的追思儀式，會不會也會自嘲幾句呢？

出席追思會的人可以說是影響當今時裝界的所有人，這是一場久違的重逢，為了共同向一個人致敬。由Karl Lagerfeld的繆思Claudia Schiffer、Carla Bruni Sarkozy、Gigi Hadid到掌握話語權的人——LVMH和Kering集團CEO以及不少政界人物。
設計師方面， Ralph Lauren、Valentino Garavani、Alber Elbaz、Silvia Venturini Fendi、Kenzo Takada、Jonathan Anderson、Tommy Hilfiger, Haider Ackermann、Pierpaolo Piccioli 還有 Alessandro Michele等，大概除了這個追思會，沒有什麼場合能再聚集如此多奠定時裝的人物。
