早在兩年前, Marc Jaocbs 就率先打破傳統,以 #CastMeMarc 在 Instagram 上為他的 Marc by Marc Jacobs 2014 秋冬系列招募模特。當時有超過 70,000 人參加,最後選了9位來拍攝廣告,而該廣告由知名時尚攝影師 David Sims 拍攝。其後,Marc Jacobs 亦繼續使用這個策略和他的消費群體繼續互動交流。他再次在 2016 春夏系列上招募,這次他的對象範圍縮小為Vlogger,並邀請了《魯保羅變裝皇后秀》第六季的出演者扮裝皇后(Drag Queen)Milk 擔任時裝展模特。

這次,Marc Jacobs 再次公開招募香水廣告出演者,並強調要大家錄視頻解釋自己有哪方面的不完美(perfectly imperfect),可以看到近年 Marc Jacobs 着力以身作則,增加時裝界的包容性和多樣性,確實是令人期待。Marc Jacobs 的香水本來就很受歡迎,除了以大雛菊作為包裝的清甜 DAISY LOVE 和 甜美的花香型香氛 DOT 外,他的 DECADENCE 香水外型和氣味亦十分獨特。

以前我們看 Marc Jacobs,總覺得他很厲害,居然在29歲就奪得 CFDA 女裝設計師獎(而且是兩次 : 1992和1997年!)。而他任職時又常常把 Louis Vuitton 的時裝展弄得天花龍鳳,場場都堪稱經典:他的黃白格紋地板配扶手電梯、Louis Vuitton 列車、全白旋轉木馬、黑色酒店房間格局等,都讓我們久久不能忘卻。他的才華令他在 Louis Vuitton 任職時就被 LVMH 集團資助,和 Robert Duffy 一起在1986年創立同名時裝品牌。

當然,現在不是說他的風頭淡去。這幾年 Marc 坦言快更不上Z 時代 的年輕人的想法,在盡量跟上的同時推出 The Marc Jacobs 副線,想回歸初心,把那個當年令他受爭議和迅速爆紅的 Perry Ellis Grunge 系列再次呈現給大家看。而這幾年我們不難發覺 Marc Jacobs 在時裝展的排場從當年的浮誇轉為簡單平淡,把重點放在人和衣服身上。這次的香水廣告公開招募,更是突顯出 Marc Jacobs 以人為本的設計理念:作為一個設計師,他不會過分的強調自己的設計,相反,他覺得是人才把他的衣服變得有活力。可能正是因為如此,他才能做到排場簡單卻又令人無以忘懷,以前如是,剛剛過去的 Marc Jacobs 2020春夏時裝展以是如此。
