泰國一向相當包容同接納LGBT社群，然而同性婚姻的法案已經由2018年提倡，今日泰國內閣終於正式通過Civil Partnership Bill，待國會通過後，將會成為首個東南亞國家承認同性婚姻。根據法案，同性伴侶跟一般夫妻無異，可以領養孩子、取得繼承權及共有財產權，但要求其中一方一定是泰國公民。

今次泰國的舉動對亞洲地區推動同性平權相當具標誌性，證明同性平權不只是於歐美得到重視，於東南亞同樣備受認可。其實泰國社會一向廣泛接納LGBT社群，近年更加提倡「粉紅旅遊」，即是針對同性伴侶與LGBT社群的旅遊行程。好像為同性伴侶而設的度蜜月之旅、推廣同志酒吧等，目的是希望LGBT旅客可以在泰國任何地方亦毫無顧慮地觀光玩樂，然而今次連本地人也可感受到同性平權的自由。
從旅遊方針，再到今次的同性婚姻，可見同性平權愈來愈受到世界重視，LGBT不再是小眾一群，所得到的權利逐漸平等，絕對是一個大進步。
