This #ThrowbackThursday, we're revisiting the 2017 exhibition "Marisa Merz: The Sky Is a Great Space" the first major retrospective in the United States of the Italian painter, sculptor, and installation artist—whom we lost last summer at age 93.⁣ ⁣ Merz gained international prominence as part of the circle of artists associated with Arte Povera in the 1960s. She was the sole female protagonist of the movement and one of the few Italian women at the time to present her work in major international venues.⁣ ⁣ The exhibition, co-organized with @hammer_museum, brought together five decades of Merz’s work distinguished by an incredible range and uncompromising consistency.⁣ ⁣ What’s your favorite memory from the @metbreuer? ​We're exploring a few of ours from the #MetBreuer's 2017-18 season in our Stories. 自從疫情爆發後,大都會博物館由3月13日便關閉,而博物館作為美國最大文化機構之一,率先做出安全性考量而暫定開放,曾預計將會8月中旬重開。

大都會博物館在過去一個多世紀的歷史中從未關閉過超多3天的時間,但今次博物館決定重開,仍會按照紐約的疾病控制和預防中心(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) 的指引。採取一系列的安全措施和清潔程序,並且要求參觀者和工作人員必須要戴上口罩,而參觀人數限制於不多於原本的25%。同時博物館被要求保持社交距離,鼓勵勤洗手。

大都會博物館內首個映入眼簾的便是《Making The Met: 1870-2020》新展覽,是大都會博物館150週年的標誌性展覽;而還有《Jacob Lawrence: The American StruggleDetour》以及由 Costume Institute 舉辦的《In Pursuit of Fashion: The Sandy Schreier Collection》將會延長至9月27日。

同時今年原訂5月上映的《About Time: Fashion and Duration》也將在10月29日發佈。
