形象和觀眾緣同樣俱備的石原里美一直相當受歡迎，一宣佈她成為東奧火炬傳遞大使後，已經成為熱話。然而早於3月開始傳遞火炬，當時石原里美以一身火炬手造型為傳遞活動綵排，塗上紅色唇膏和綁起鬢辮馬尾完成200米的路程，她興奮地向圍觀的市民揮手派飛吻，即使穿上火炬手的白紅色運動服，但仍然未阻她的女神氣質。

另外她也放下馬尾，以直長髮造型燃點聖火，這個造型散發出她嫵媚的氣質。雖然如此，但她的空氣劉海平衡了嫵媚的感覺。

她也曾經以空氣劉海，再綁上馬尾出席活動，年輕的髮型配以白黃色漸變的上衣，還有珊瑚唇色，充滿活力感。

今次的東京奧運有不少大家熟識的藝人擔當火炬手，雖然爭議後有不少藝人退出，除了石原里美外，還有山田孝之等，當然少不了一眾運動員參與盛事。

然而當石原里美在盡東奧的責任外，也不忘拍攝日劇，當然少不了剛播完，跟綾野剛首度合作的《戀愛要夠Deep》，她在劇中飾演人魚的角色相當突破，還演出一段浪漫而且具環保意義的愛情，成為她另一套經典演出作品。

再之前的是改編自漫畫《默默奉獻的灰姑娘》，看似像愛情喜劇的名字，其實是講藥劑師的故事，石原飾演的藥劑師葵綠一直備受其他醫生等批評。繼2007年的《Unnatural》後，是石原第二套跟醫療有關的劇集，穿上藍色醫療服的石原里美，綁上可愛的丸子髮髻，散發出少女味。

其實石原在以往的劇集曾飾演過不同角色，而且每個角色的造型亦相當不同。好像《高嶺之花》的美豔和服造型，看到石原傳統又高貴的一面。

還有她在《校閱女孩》中的多個時尚造型，基本上每一集亦換上多個不同的造型，連睡衣亦特別時尚，在當年掀起了熱潮，加上今次的奧運造型，難怪會一直成為不少女生的模仿對象。
