Spring/Summer 2020 fashion month has officially commenced, taking to the first of the big four fashion hubs: New York City. This season, stylish show-goers eased into transitional wear by balancing printed day dresses with sharp outerwear. The last days of warm weather encouraged legions of florals, while neutrals took the form of two-tone palettes: beige and white suiting or graphic black and white patterns. Trench coats and leather jackets made their perennial return, and gingham dresses and animal prints — particularly snakeskin and cow print — ushered in the latest chapter of statement patterns. As for accessories, it’s the new era of Bottega Veneta, with everything from the Pouch to the square-toe sandals.
