As we welcome fashion’s biggest month in New York, the world of television was busy gathering in Los Angeles to celebrate the best of their industry at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The spotlight was on Zendaya, who dialled up the glamour in a black Valentino gown inspired by Grace Kelly and Linda Evangelista, a retro look that sent comedian Hannah Einbinder fangirling over the Euphoria actress on live TV. The peplum detail and sweeping skirt added just the right amount of drama to Zendaya’s shining moment on stage, where she became the youngest person to ever win the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award two times.

The unspoken dress code of the evening? Keeping it classic. And Selena Gomez nailed it in a white beaded Celine halterneck gown that was the epitome of timeless elegance. The singer and actress might’ve skipped out on the red carpet, but she still managed to send the internet buzzing over her hilarious banter with her fellow presenters and Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.

It was an extra meaningful night for the Asian community as we witnessed the beloved cast of Squid Game make Emmys history: Lee Jung-jae became the first South Korean and Asian actor to be crowned Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama Series, while director Hwang Dong-hyuk became the first South Korean to win the Outstanding Writing and Directing for a Drama Series award. Lee Jung-jae also took to the stage to re-enact the famous Red Light, Green Light game scene from the Netflix series with his co-star Jung Hoyeon, who dazzled in a Louis Vuitton sequinned dress adorned with multi-coloured geometric patterns. The breakout star styled her hair in an old Hollywood bob which she topped with a floral hairpin reminiscent of a ddeoljam, a hair accessory worn with the traditional Korean hanbok.
