Gucci

Gucci is interweaving the old with the new this Chinese New Year. The collection is based around an archival tiger design from the late 1960s by illustrator Vittorio Accornero, the creator of Gucci’s signature Flora motif. The Maison’s Year of the Tiger collection sees Vittorio’s tiger prancing in a pastel jungle, the print adorning silk shirts, wallets and even the brand’s iconic Jackie silhouette. The other half of the collection features a bold red “Gucci Tiger” text in a typeface reminiscent of collegiate varsity logos, lending the collection a retro flair.

Under the lens of Liu Song, Chinese actress Chun Xia and actor-singer Li Yifeng model the collection’s winter essentials and athleisure-wear inspired by skisports as part of the maison’s campaign. Prada will also take part in the “Action in the Year of the Tiger” initiative, contributing to the conservation of endangered Amur Tigers by donating to China Green Foundation’s Walking with Tiger and Leopard Program.
