OnceStyle

For a truly covetable edit of luxury vintage in almost mint condition, OnceStyle is a must. The store is filled with designer clothing and accessories mostly from the 1980s and 1990s — think Christian Lacroix, Escada, Moschino, Tom Ford-era Gucci and Versace during Gianni’s helm. While the brand list is a drawcard, it is store owner Tony Wong’s curated eye that makes this place really special; from neon green square-toe Fendi mules to a high-shine Celine bag with hoop handles, many pieces could be slipped into a new season wardrobe with ease.

Little DOT Vintage is filled with quirky, bright finds mostly from the 1970s and 1980s. Every detail of the store is executed with pride — the edit is visually cohesive, well-organised and labelled according to era. You’ll find mainly no-name-labelled vintage here, with a dusting of designer pieces from the likes of Dior and Balenciaga. There’s also a pretty impressive array of nostalgic toys, comic books and memorabilia — cue Snoopy push-button telephones from the 1970s, Pez candy dispensers from the 1980s, and even a Home Alone doll of Macaulay Culkin from the early 1990s.

Vintage1961

The Audrey Hepburn poster on this outpost’s front door is a big indication of what you’ll find inside — pretty, ladylike vintage that nods to Breakfast at Tiffany’s. While the shop owner’s favourite years are the 1950s and early 1960s, you’ll find pieces ranging up until the 1980s. Instead of designer brands, it’s mostly no-name-labelled pieces including polyester dresses, ruffled blouses and costume jewellery, along with a selection of vintage-inspired threads by the store’s in-house brand, Femme Libérée. You’ll also find nostalgic handicraft, such as tea sets and embroidered handkerchiefs.

Bang! Bang! 70’s

Cosy and tightly-packed, Bang! Bang! 70’s is more than worthy of a visit. As the name suggests, there’s plenty from the 1970s, such as retro sneakers and colour-lensed wireframe glasses, but there’s fashion and memorabilia from later decades too. If designer labels hold appeal, the vintage Louis Vuitton classic monogram shoulder bags and backpacks from the 1990s are worthy of your attention. Also spotted, a Gucci GG canvas cap and a Burberry rain jacket in the brand’s iconic check.

If you enjoy a rifle through quirky memorabilia and other vintage curiosities, Select 18 is the place. You’ll find everything from old televisions and fans, Coca-Cola bottles from the 1970s and rotary phones. There’s also an array of retro dolls – from Barbie to Ronald McDonald’s antagonist Hamburglar – and stacks of vinyl records. While the focus isn’t fashion, you will find a pretty substantial collection of costume jewellery and sunglasses worthy of a rummage.
