The May 2020 issue of VOGUE JAPAN, the Japanese edition of the world’s most influential women’s fashion magazine VOGUE, will be published on 28 March. Starring on the cover is Cocomi, a talented young woman and aspiring musician, who is looking forward to making her stage debut in Japan. The daughter of two well-known entertainers—her father is an actor and her mother a singer—Cocomi has just graduated from high school and recently modeled for this shoot and sat for an exclusive interview, for the May issue of VOGUE JAPAN.

In the exclusive interview that appears in this month’s issue, she talks publicly for the first time about her love of music and beauty, her family, who she considers “the center of my happiness,” the lessons she has learned from her parents, and her hopes and ambitions for the future. In addition, she describes her experience at the cover shoot with the world’s top photographic duo Luigi & Iango.

Coinciding with Cocomi’s debut on the cover of VOGUE JAPAN, Dior has announced that it is appointing her as its Japan ambassador for beauty, fashion, jewellery and timepieces. In the interview, she also talks about her ambassadorship for Dior as a maison that embodies elegance and her love of art in the form of beauty, fashion, jewellery and timepieces.

For the photo shoot, Cocomi was clad in Dior’s SS20 haute couture, and Dior’s makeup creative and image director, the world-famous Peter Phillips, was on hand to perfect her mode-style makeup. The result stunningly graces the magazine’s cover, for which, with a flute in one hand, Cocomi appears for the first time wearing an haute couture dress.
