The Italian shipbuilding giant’s vision transcends mere incremental improvements, aiming instead to instil a long-term commitment to sustainability. By the end of the decade, the group aims to debut the initial phase of its superyacht series, which will be powered by green methanol, highlighting the imperative to meet the marine industry’s demand for carbon-neutral power systems. This groundbreaking initiative signals a new era of eco-friendly navigation, where the principles of environmental consciousness and luxury seamlessly coexist on the open water.

Sanlorenzo has partnered with Volvo Penta to push the boundaries of sustainable yachting and maritime technology. The Volvo Penta IPS Professional Platform is an efficiency-based system designed to optimise fuel consumption, enhance agility, and improve navigational capabilities while reducing emissions by an impressive 30%. Its unique technological features enable it to be installed on superyachts ranging from 25 to over 55 meters in length, with maximum speeds ranging from 12 to 40 knots. This IPS Professional Platform experience is not only a pioneering sustainable initiative in the yacht industry but also a model of cutting-edge engineering that integrates into Sanlorenzo’s visionary yacht designs.

Since 2022, Sanlorenzo has been at the forefront of pioneering a more sustainable approach to luxury yachting. Their previous two launches of two exceptional models, the SP110 and SD90, demonstrate their unwavering commitment to innovation and design. The SP110 model stands out with its fractional propulsion system, implementation of laminated glass solutions, and incorporation of a double-edged flank that ensures comfort even in rough seas. In collaboration with Philippe Briand and the Zuccon International Project studio, Sanlorenzo also introduced the SD90 model, which distinguishes itself with an exceptional sustainable hybrid propulsion system. This cutting-edge system optimises the efficiency of its dual power motorisation and maximises the power generated by its lithium batteries, which are generated during sailing.
