Forget celebrity friendships, the real power players are the pups. As “pet parenting” becomes an increasingly big part of the modern lifestyle, more and more Korean idols are giving fans a peek at life with their four-legged companions. And honestly? We’re not complaining!
From BLACKPINK’s Rosé and BTS’ Jungkook to CORTIS’ Keonho, these furry companions are more than just pets. They are beloved family members, trusted sidekicks and, occasionally, stars in their own right. “My owner is a celebrity!” Most of these impossibly adorable pets probably have no idea, but their fans certainly do. Just take a look at BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s Kuma or Rosé’s Hank, both regulars on the Instagram feeds of their owners, whose accounts boast millions of followers.
Some have their own social media accounts. Some have appeared on television. Some have even made their on-screen debuts alongside their owners. In other words, these dogs are booked and busy, and somehow, even cuter than their celebrity parents.
From K-pop’s most stylish sidekicks to the pups with a fanbase of their own, Vogue Hong Kong rounds up the celebrity pet pairings you need to know, because everyone deserves a little puppy-induced serotonin.
1. BLACKPINK Rosé and Hank
If there were an award for most famous celebrity dog of the moment, Rosé’s Hank would have some serious competition, but he’d probably be the favourite. Adopted by the pop star in December 2020, Hank’s life was transformed overnight. With his round, expressive eyes, impossible fluffy coat and gentle, loveable personality, he quickly became one of Rosé’s closest companions. He has since amassed more than a million followers of his own, proving that you don’t necessarily need a microphone or a record deal to become famous, sometimes just a little nepotism does the trick.
In 2025, Hank even landed an interview with Vogue US, making him one of the rare celebrity pets to receive dedicated coverage from an international fashion publication. In the interview, Rosé revealed that Hank is like family to her, more specifically, like a son. She speaks to him in both Korean and English, even joking that he is a “bilingual dog”. Not a bad resume for a rescue pup.
Rosé might spend her days bouncing between tours, recording sessions and Fashion Week appearances around the world, but whenever her schedule allows, Hank comes along to shoots and important work moments. When his ‘mom’ is travelling overseas, however, Hank usually stays behind in Seoul, living his best slow-life existence: chewing the occasional sock, strolling to nearby cafés and generally enjoying a rather enviable routine. For fans, Hank is more than Rosé’s beloved dog. He is also a little window into the quieter, softer side of one of the world’s biggest pop stars.
2. BTS Jungkook and Bam
Jungkook’s love for Bam is hardly breaking news, it has been one of BTS’ most open secrets for years. The Doberman has been turning heads since he first appeared alongside his owner, not least because his expressive eyes look remarkably similar to Jungkook’s. The resemblance is almost uncanny. But while Bam may look strikingly handsome, his personality is much more gentle and laid back.
Jungkook even gave his dog his own Instagram account, with the bio proudly declaring him to be “Bam’s dad”. The account has now amassed more than eight million followers, yes, eight million. Bam is officially an influencer. He has also joined Jungkook on set for In the SOOP, giving fans another glimpse of the bond between the BTS star and his four-legged best friend.
3. BTS V and Yeontan
If a dog gets to be your Instagram profile picture, you know they have made it. That was exactly the case for V’s beloved Yeontan, a Pomeranian who held a particularly special place in his owner’s heart.
Yeontan, whose name means “coal briquette”, inspired by his dark coat, first won fans over with his round little body and bright eyes. He soon became a familiar presence across V’s social media, making an appearance in selfies, livestreams and behind-the-scenes moments. Sometimes he would curl up in V’s arms for cuddles; other times, he would stare curiously into the camera with an expression that could melt even the hardest of hearts.
V previously revealed that he had done plenty of preparation before adopting Yeontan, even taking the time to learn about pet care. As Yeontan had relatively fragile health from a young age and required long-term treatment and care, their time together was especially precious. No matter how packed his schedule became, V continued to make time for him and carefully looked after his day-to-day needs.
Then came one particularly unforgettable moment. During the promotion of his 2023 solo album Layover, V brought Yeontan along to appear on a music programme. The moment the tiny dog appeared on camera, the atmosphere instantly became warmer and more relaxed. V introduced him to fans with a simple joke: “Yeontan debuted.” Honestly, every dog deserves a debut stage.
At the end of 2024, V personally shared the news of Yeontan’s passing with fans. Although he may no longer be by V’s side, Yeontan remains present in the snapshots and memories left behind. For many fans, he was more than an adorable Pomeranian, he was a beloved companion who witnessed an important chapter of V’s life.
4. BLACKPINK Jennie and Kuma
Jennie has had two beloved dogs, Kuma and Kai, and the trio were known to be inseparable. The dogs would even occasionally sport matching looks with their idol owner, because apparently coordinating with Jennie is simply part of the job description.
In 2023, Kai passed away due to health issues. Jennie later revealed that the loss deeply affected both her and her family, to the point that they struggled to even mention her dog’s name for the longest time.
Today, Kuma remains by Jennie’s side, occasionally making appearances on variety shows and social media. Jennie has shared plenty of photographs with her dogs over the years, including one particularly adorable family moment in which all three sported matching sunglasses.
5. BLACKPINK Lisa, Love and Lola
Lisa may have a reputation as a devoted cat mum, but her family has officially expanded beyond the feline world. For years, her five cats, Leo, Luca, Lily, Louis and Lego, collectively known as the “L family”, have been firm fan favourites. So when Lisa introduced her Doberman, Love, on Instagram, fans were understandably surprised. After all, she had previously joked during a livestream that she did not plan to adopt another cat. Many assumed the “L family” was complete. Apparently, there was a plot twist.
Love, with his long, elegant frame, quickly settled into the household. Then came another new arrival: Lola, a long-haired dachshund with a tiny frame and wonderfully fluffy coat who swiftly became another fan favourite. Love frequently appears in Lisa’s everyday life, whether he is relaxing at home with his owner or tagging along on her travels. Despite his commanding aura, Love is actually something of a softie, constantly wanting to curl up beside Lisa.
With five cats, Love and Lola now making up the household, Lisa’s furry family has become quite the full house. And whenever she shares another glimpse of them, fans are predictably powerless to resist.
6. BLACKPINK Jisoo and Dalgom
Jisoo’s dog Dalgom might be small, fluffy and impossibly innocent-looking, but this Maltese definitely has a personality of his own. With a name that translates to “Moon Bear”, Dalgom has a snow-white coat and round, innocent eyes that make him instantly recognisable. He has been part of Jisoo’s life since her early debut days, frequently appearing on her social media as well as group programmes such as BLACKPINK House.
His personality? Calm, slightly aloof and very much his own dog. Dalgom has occasionally been known to ignore even his trainer’s instructions, seemingly operating according to his own set of rules. And, naturally, that only makes fans love him more.
7. CORTIS Keonho and Cookie
CORTIS member Keonho’s Chihuahua Cookie may be tiny, but when it comes to star power, this pup is punching well above his weight. The pair are particularly adorable together, thanks in part to Cookie’s round, expressive eyes. Look closely and something else becomes increasingly obvious: Keonho and Cookie actually look remarkably alike. Their expressions, eyes and overall energy seem almost copy-and-pasted.
Cookie has even made appearances on CORTIS’ YouTube channel. In one vlog, Keonho returned home during a rare break from scheduled events and immediately ran to give Cookie a kiss. For an idol who spends so much of his time practising and performing, Cookie is more than just a pet. He is a beloved member of Keonho’s family, and one of the performer’s favourite ways to switch off, unwind and feel completely at home.
8. aespa Giselle and Cooper
aespa’s Giselle is another idol who loves giving fans a peek at life with her furry companion. Her dog Cooper frequently appears on her social media, where his energetic personality and adorable looks have earned him plenty of fans of his own. Whether he is popping up in everyday photos and videos or joining Giselle for a shoot, Cooper has become a familiar presence in her feed. And when the two appear together on camera, their chemistry is undeniable. It offers a softer, more relaxed glimpse of Giselle, far removed from the stage lights and performances.
9. Park Seo-joon and Simba
Korean actor Park Seo-joon is also a certified dog person. His beloved Simba frequently appears alongside him in Instagram photos, where their sweet, wholesome dynamic has earned plenty of attention. Simba is also a regular guest star in Park Seo-joon’s YouTube vlogs, drawing plenty of views whenever he makes an appearance. In fact, the actor has even joked that Simba is more popular than he is. We’re not saying he’s wrong.
10. Park Min-young and Leon
Park Min-young, who starred opposite Park Seo-joon as a couple in What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, also has a white Bichon Frise, and the resemblance between Leon and Simba did not go unnoticed. In fact, the similarity between the two actors’ dogs even became one of the pieces of “evidence” fans pointed to amid dating rumours surrounding the pair at the time. Park Min-young had been sharing photos of Leon for some time, and she even created a dedicated account for her beloved dog. Because, naturally, Leon deserves his own little corner of the internet.
11. HyunA and Sogeum
HyunA is another Korean idol with a well-known love for dogs, with a beloved Bichon Frise named Sogeum. But her love of dogs goes beyond her own pet. The kind-hearted star once used an Instagram livestream to urgently help find the owner of a lost dog, putting her platform to good use when a furry friend needed help.
12. Girls’ Generation Yoona and Rae-O
Girls’ Generation member Yoona is something of an Instagram enthusiast when it comes to showing off her dog — and honestly, we support it. Her beloved dog Rae-O is a constant companion, appearing alongside Yoona throughout both her work and everyday life. Whether she is busy with schedules or simply enjoying some downtime, Rae-O is never far away.
13. EXO Sehun and Vivi & Monsieur
Sehun’s beloved dog Vivi has long been a celebrity in his own right. Fans have watched him grow increasingly round under his owner’s care, and now, there is now even more room at the table. More recently, another furry member joined the household. Sehun had originally been looking after his friend’s poodle, Monsieur, but eventually decided to make the arrangement official and welcome him into the family.
Just like that, Sehun’s household gained another four-legged member. And if there is one thing we have learned from Korea’s celebrity pet parents, it is this: when your owner is already a star, there is really no reason why you can’t become one too.
