Last night, the 2026 Asia’s 50 Best Bars list was unveiled at a glittering ceremony at Wynn Palace, Macau. It was a joyous celebration that brought together the people behind the best of the region’s ever-evolving cocktail scene. A total of 50 bars hailing from 22 cities made this year’s selection, which included 14 new entries and two re-entries. Within the top ten, Bangkok and the Greater Bay dominated with three and four bars, respectively, while Singapore, Seoul, and Goa also cracked the list.

#10 Obsidian, Shenzhen
This is Shenzhen’s rising star. Located within the soaring Ping An Finance Centre— one of the tallest buildings in the world— this sophisticated multi-storey, steampunk-style bar first debuted on the list at No.51 last year. Its ascent to the top ten is thanks to an adventurous cocktail menu that is both structured and experimental, reimagining classic formulas with Chinese sensibility. That means Chinese tea infusions, local produce, and hyper-seasonality.

#9 Jigger & Pony, Singapore
A mainstay on the Asia 50 Best Bars list since its inception in 2016, Jigger & Pony is one of the most defining establishments of Singapore’s bar scene. The bar first opened at Amoy Street, later relocating to its current home at the lively Amara Singapore hotel. Conceived by an incredibly imaginative team, the bar programme is rooted in classic cocktail craft yet is always evolving. If you’re visiting for the first time, get started with the Yuzu Whisky Sour, one of their most beloved signatures.

#8 Boilermaker, Goa
The boilermaker cocktail is loved for its simplicity and unpretentiousness. Goa’s top bar channels that same energy, a soulful neighbourhood establishment dedicated to its craft and community. Boilermaker was founded in 2024, and has made a name for itself via inventive cocktails like “Why Did The Onion Blush?” featuring red onion, green chilli and yoghurt, or a whiskey highball made with red apples and Majra soda, as well as bar bites that reflect true Goan flavours.

#7 Lennon’s, Bangkok
Cross a 6,000 vinyl-rich home recording studio with the Gatsby Mansion and you get Lennon’s, a mid-century style speakeasy perched on the top floor of the Rosewood Bangkok. The bar makes a remarkable debut on the 2026 Asia’s 50 Best Bars list as the highest new entry—and for good reason. Led by KT Lam, Rosewood Bangkok’s director of bars and former beverage manager of Hong Kong’s DarkSide, alongside bar manager James Kosil Kamja, Lennon’s stirs a cocktail as well as it spins a vinyl. Exceptional takes on classics like the daiquiri and mojito celebrate the Golden Era of cocktails, while creative concoctions like the “SagoREgroni” and “FAd Thai Sour” capture the beat of Bangkok with distinctly Thai flavours.

#6 Bar Us, Bangkok
Bar Us has got it down to a science. With its intimate all-black drinking room flanked by rows and rows of herbs and spices, the bar feels akin to a modern apothecary. The cocktail programme takes after a multicourse fine dining experience, divided into Starters, Mains, Afters and an All-night section for reimagined classics. Unlike typical fine dining menus though, the Bar Us experience isn’t fixed. You can begin with a mixture of flavours like cucumber, coriander and roasted rice, followed by beef and onion, and finish with something sweet—or vice versa. Their highly seasonal menu dictated by local produce has also earned Bar Us this year’s Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award.

#5 MO Bar, Shenzhen
MO Bar is a top player in the Shenzhen bar scene—quite literally, perched at the top. Journey to the 79th floor of the Mandarin Oriental and you’ll be met by the rooftop bar’s industrial-chic interiors and intoxicating views of the glittering cityscape. The bar team, led by Tiger Chang, continuously finds inventive ways to pay homage to China’s five-millennia history while shining a light on Shenzhen’s dynamism. Colours of China follows the ethos of the 24 Solar Terms, featuring 16 cocktails corresponding to each season, while the Movable Type cocktails were inspired by ancient printing techniques. Only a newcomer to Asia’s 50 Best Bars list last year, MO Bar Shenzhen has jumped 16 spots to claim its title as one of the top 5 bars in Asia today.

#4 Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, Bangkok
Dry Wave Cocktail Studio hit the ground running. Founded by renowned bartender Supawit ‘Palm’ Muttarattana in 2024, the bar nabbed the Campari One To Watch Award by Asia’s 50 Best Bars within its first year. Two years later, it’s already crowned as one of the best in Asia. The Super Classic menu merges cocktails from different eras into one drink, and it’s the crux of the Dry Wave Cocktail Studio experience. The ethos? Ensuring that cocktails are easily understandable while introducing visitors to cocktail trends across the centuries.

#3 Bar Leone, Hong Kong
Bar Leone has espoused “cocktail popolari” since its inception—what does it mean? For co-founder and mixologist Lorenzo Antinori, the philosophy of ‘cocktail for the people’ has materialised in Bar Leone’s cocktail recipes made free and accessible to all, warm service, a welcoming and unpretentious neighbourhood atmosphere, and a pared-back approach to mixology. With these strengths, Bar Leone debuted directly at No.1 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in 2024 and became the world’s best in 2025. With the soul of Rome’s traditional neighbourhood bars, Bar Leone is renowned for its filthy martini and fig leaf negroni, while their smoked olives and bursting mortadella sandwiches also boast a cult following.

#2 Zest, Seoul
A zero-excess philosophy underscores Zest’s philosophy. Founded by Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2024 winner Dohyung ‘Demie’ Kim along with Jisu Park and Noah Kwon, South Korea’s best bar maximises a myriad of local ingredients. For example, the peels of Jeju’s famed regional oranges are restilled into the house gin, while the pulp is turned into cordial or sauerkraut. The team also creates their own carbonated drinks, which guests can see through the bar’s open prep lab. With no bottles on display and no labels in sight, Zest is all about honouring uncommon local spirits, local ingredients, and a refusal to flaunt and consume unnecessarily.

#1 Hope & Sesame, Guangzhou
Singlehandedly putting Mainland China on the cocktail map as the first-ever bar from the region to rank first on the Asia’s Best Bar list is Hope & Sesame. The first speakeasy to open in southern China, the bar is tucked away behind a cha chaan teng in the hip Dongshankou neighbourhood. Behind its storied entrance, unconventional mixology techniques come alive. Centrifugal clarification, sous vide infusions, slow cooking and rotary distillation are some of the ways Hope & Sesame allows Cantonese ingreidents to sing. For their 17th menu, Bittersweet, the bar brings in herbal teas, bittermelon and ginseng to highlight the commonplace bitterness in Cantonese palettes. All the while, sweetness is honoured through ingredients like hairy fig in the hairy fig martini.
