儘管韓流發展日新月異，甚至前江後浪推前浪，不過 BIGBANG 在韓國中仍然佔一重要之位，其歌曲作品如〈Fantastic Baby〉、〈Loser〉、〈Bang Bang Bang〉 和〈Bad Boy〉等等，至今仍然是一代人的經典金曲。 YG 娛樂在 2006 年 8月 19日推出名為宇宙大爆炸之意的 Big Bang 組合，T.O.P、太陽、G-Dragon、姜大聲以及勝利自此展開華麗的星途，更累積一眾V.I.P 歌迷 （Very Important Person）。
BIGBANG 一直不斷自我突破，加上鮮明的造型，從出道以來已經獲得高度關注，其作品不斷刷新韓國流行音樂多項紀錄，更被國際譽為「K-POP流行音樂之王」和「韓國國民男團」等完美稱號；《TIME》亦形容他們為「全球最具影響力的男子組合」，並且在全球各地舉行巡迴演唱會。當中隊長 G-Dragon 權志龍玩轉街頭及高級時尚成為 Chanel 寵兒，無論是音樂 MV 還是出席時裝展，個人品牌 Peace Minus One 與 Nike 聯乘，以 Paranoise 刮花技術展現圖案的理念更充份反映其藝術才華，其時尚品味獲得大眾認同。
不過 BIGBANG 自 2017 年起經歷兵役空白期，成員兩年前陸續退伍後，又因為大流行和勝利醜聞（最終因而退隊） 而阻延回歸計劃；據韓媒表示， YG 娛樂已經表示現時的 4位成員已經完成續約，令一眾 V.I.P 期待他們推出新作。
正值 BIGBANG 出道 15 周年，成員之間以不同方式在個人社交媒體「慶祝」並發表感想。例如剛剛慶祝 33歲生日的 G-Dragon ，不只穿上印上818 （生日日期）的T恤，更上載BIGBANG 的唱片封面，讓人回味。另外，T.O.P亦上載「15」字樣的金色氣球照，還在個人 Instagram 以有趣的形式迎接周年。至於太陽則貼上寫著「15」燃燒中的愛心 emoji，並轉發他自己為個人粉絲網站「urthesun」寫下的親筆信，並表示「時間真的好像在飛逝，這麼快就15周年了！就像今年夏天熾熱又晴朗的天空一樣，希望我們所有日子都能更加美好！」
