Thank you @colossal for this beautiful write up! . “Everywhere you look – Miami is undergoing drastic infrastructure changes trying to gear up for a losing battle against land and sea. I believe communities of color will experience the greatest climate exodus within our modern times.” . Stay tune for my upcoming body of work titled “Water grieves in the six shades of death” which will respond to climate-gentrification and its impact on communities of color and the lower working class. . . . . . . #artist #artistoninstagram #artgallery #artstudio #miami #haitianartist #educator #caribbeanartist #moment #transformation #blackartist #doucet #ceramicartists #mdoucet #vscocamera

On view at the Flaten Art Museum, February 8 – April 14, 2019 curated by @robertolugostudio. Make sure to stop by during @nceca. . Skin morph eulogies as broken promises Medium: Porcelain ceramics, slip cast and hand altered forms Dimension: 22’’ – 24” Diameter Year: 2019 . Will our skin be the eulogies of our ultimate demise? . ” Skin morph eulogies as broken promises” is an altar for humanity to reconsider our environmental vices of destruction, greed, and arrogance. The centered plate is nestled amongst cycles of life, death, and rebirth; disembodied limbs articulate past colonial violence, rape, and indoctrination of a white standard of beauty. The altar mourns and exposes the nuances of human desire, relationships, and sexuality. .
